Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional school leader to join our team at St Davids School in Germany. As an Assistant Headteacher, you will play a key role in shaping the educational experience of our students and contributing to the school's vision and values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of the school's policies, School Improvement Plan, practices, and procedures.
  • Lead on performance as line manager for staff, ensuring they are supported, valued, and held to account for their performance.
  • Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.
  • Lead and coordinate aspects of the curriculum offer, ensuring intent, implementation, and impact are consistently successful across the school.
  • Lead and participate in the monitoring and evaluation of the quality of education being achieved across the school.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the school's SEND strategy and policy.
  • Carry out assessments of pupils with SEND to identify needs and monitor progress.
  • Work with classroom teachers, the school leadership team, parents, and relevant external agencies to develop, implement, and monitor individual support/learning plans.
  • Provide regular updates on pupil progress through written reports and meetings with parents.
  • Make referrals and liaise with professionals outside of the school, such as educational psychologists, health and social care providers, and speech, language therapists.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and training to classroom teachers on supporting pupils with SEND.
  • Support teachers to develop and implement effective teaching and behaviour management approaches in the classroom.
  • Develop and maintain systems for keeping pupil records, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
  • Analyse school, local, and national data and develop appropriate strategies and interventions.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status as defined by the Department for Education.
  • Recent experience of teaching the National Curriculum for England for a minimum of 5 years and senior leadership experience in a UK-based or DCS school.
  • NASENCo qualification or a willingness to carry out the qualification shortly after taking up post.
  • Evidence of high-quality teaching, setting high expectations, and proven experience of ensuring good progress and outcomes for all pupils.
  • Successful experience of modelling, coaching, and supporting colleagues to achieve improvement.
  • Proven experience of making accurate assessments and using assessment tools that inform planning and enable pupils to improve.
  • Demonstrate effective behaviour management that ensures a good and safe learning environment.
