About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at ELBE FLUGZEUGWERKE GMBH. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the constructive support of production during maintenance and conversion processes, as well as the development and elaboration of solutions for aircraft and its systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop subsystems, components, and assemblies of the aircraft structure using CAD and EDP systems.
  • Conduct constructive investigations into design solutions, assessing their feasibility and impact on costs, weight, maintainability, and service life.
  • Develop constructive solutions for repair and optimization of structures and components based on analysis of damage reports and in-service reports.
  • Prepare documents for manufacturing, retrofitting, qualification, operation, verification, and approval.
  • Assess modifications and construction deviations with regard to their effects on sample documents and other A/C systems.

Requirements

  • Completed university education in a relevant technical course of study, ideally in mechanical engineering with a specialization in aerospace engineering/design/lightweight construction.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office applications, CAD software (CATIA V5), and VPM.
  • Very good English skills.
  • Ability to work in a team, determination, and a high degree of reliability, conscientiousness, and diligence.
  • Good time management and flexibility with regard to working hours and possible on-call duties.
  • Presence of prerequisites for aviation security background check (§ 7 Luftsicherheitsgesetz (LuftSiG)).
