Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team at The Stepstone Group. As a key member of our data domain, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality of our software development cycle.
Your responsibilities will include guiding and supporting others, leading the team by example with best testing practices, and working across multiple projects to identify potential issues. You will also contribute to the refinement of requirements and make informed judgement calls on the scope of testing required.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to get involved in programming tasks if you so choose, or to help out with business analysis. Your role will be critical in helping us reimagine the labour market to make it work for everybody.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Help developers create good quality automated acceptance tests to ensure the product is protected into the future.
- Conduct manual exploratory testing.
- Contribute actively in the planning stages to eliminate bugs before they are ever created.
- Ensure User Stories accepted into sprints have complete acceptance criteria, are testable, and that important requirements are not forgotten.
- Bring testing experience to the team and help other team members write good quality automated tests.
Qualifications
- Understanding of data engineering concepts, including technical skills such as SQL, Python, Data Warehousing, ETL, Facts and Dimensions, and cloud technologies like Redshift and S3.
- Experience in Exploratory Testing, automation, and time and attention management between multiple projects.
- Experience analysing user stories for their testing requirements, both functional and non-functional.
- Experience contributing to automated regression tests, isolating causes for hard to reproduce bugs, and influencing and persuading other team members.
- Experience working on an Agile/Scrum team and being a self-starter who seeks to contribute to the team in any way possible and improve own skills to increase contribution.
