Job Description


We are seeking a highly qualified Postdoctoral Scientist to join our Tissue & Cell Research Center in Martinsried, Germany.


The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and optimizing human cancer tissue-based complex in vitro models for (immuno-)oncology research.


Key responsibilities include:



  • Validating innovative fit-for-purpose models to assess the pharmacological activity of novel therapeutic agents
  • Conducting hands-on laboratory operations using human specimen and working in a team with research assistants/scientists
  • Introducing state-of-the-art technologies and maintaining expertise in the field through literature reviews and attending relevant congresses
  • Documenting, evaluating, interpreting, and presenting preclinical study results within given timelines
  • Closely collaborating with scientists at TCRM and in the R&D Center in Tokyo, providing scientific and technical support for colleagues
  • Preparing and reviewing reports and protocols to ensure the quality and integrity of data

Requirements


To be considered for this position, you should have:



  • A Doctor's degree in Life Sciences
  • Profound experience with complex in vitro models, assay development, and validation
  • Hands-on laboratory experience and broad expertise in tissue processing, primary cell isolation, and culturing
  • Broad expertise with tissue and cell-based read-outs (e.g. flow cytometry, high-content imaging, immunohistochemistry)
  • A strong background in the (immuno-)oncology, cancer drug discovery, and/or biomarker field
  • A strong interest in translational research
  • Excellent organizational skills, paired with flexibility and the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Intercultural competence, with the ability to work in a global environment
  • Strong English skills in written and spoken, with effective verbal communication skills in German
