As a Laboratory Head - Parenteral Manufacturing Sciences, you'll be part of an international team of 48,000 employees, with 3,000 colleagues in Germany. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of highly skilled scientists in developing manufacturing processes for new parenteral drug products, including liquid dosage forms of biotechnological drugs.
- Collaborate with project/technical leads, manufacturing areas, and analytical development to ensure seamless process development.
- Work closely with the R&D process development group to hand over products and processes from early clinical development phase.
- Provide process expertise and on-site support for transferring manufacturing processes to commercial sites and post-approval process changes or transfers.
- Establish standard approaches for process development, considering scientific, regulatory, and process-economic aspects.
- Align joint approaches within the global organization.
- Ensure scientific excellence of development approaches.
- Ensure appropriate documentation of all work according to applicable GSP or GMP requirements.
- Support authoring of submission documents.
- Ensure adherence to work safety requirements.
- Represent projects in internal and external collaborations.
- Represent the department in internal and external collaborations.
- Oversee all personnel management and development tasks of the lab team.
Requirements:
- University degree in Pharmacy/Biology/Biotechnology/Chemistry/Process Engineering or similar areas.
- PhD with typically 6+ years of experience in the relevant scientific area, or Master's degree with 12+ years of experience, or Bachelor's degree with 14+ years of experience.
- Highly energetic personality with strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Multi-year professional experience in drug product development or manufacturing, preferably of biotechnological products.
- Excellent technical and pharmaceutical understanding of manufacturing processes for parenteral drug products.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in German and English.
- Excellent team player with ability to manage conflicts.
- Demonstrated scientific communication and presentation skills.
- Experienced and demonstrated success as primary author of publications, presentations, regulatory documents, and/or primary inventor of patents.
