Mechanic for Military Aircraft

Amentum is seeking a skilled Aircraft Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of tasks related to the maintenance and repair of military aircraft.
Key Responsibilities- Perform Routine Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance tasks on military aircraft, including inspections, repairs, and replacements of parts and systems.
- Troubleshoot Issues: Identify and troubleshoot issues with aircraft systems, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Direct Work of Lower-Graded Mechanics: Supervise and direct the work of lower-graded mechanics to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Prepare Maintenance Records: Prepare and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, and other relevant documentation.
- Meet Quality and Safety Standards: Ensure that all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with established quality and safety standards.
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Experience: Five years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience required.
- Licenses and Certifications: FAA A&P or FCC (Elements 1 and 3) license required. Valid US Passport required for travel to Germany.
- Skills and Abilities: Possess good communication skills, be adaptable, and have the ability to troubleshoot entire aircraft systems. Working knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and associated systems principles required.
The selected candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and changing priorities. Must be able to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lift parts and equipment up to 20 pounds. Occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds.
