Renewable Energy Underwriting Manager

Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Renewable Energy Underwriting Manager to join our team at HDI Global. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the underwriting process for renewable energy risks, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners.
Salary
The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
Your tasks will include:
- Developing and implementing underwriting strategies for renewable energy risks;
- Managing the global portfolio of renewable energy risks;
- Collaborating with other teams to develop an integrated approach to energy underwriting;
- Providing technical expertise and support in analyzing and underwriting complex risks;
- Closing contact with other departments such as Risk Consulting, Claims and Pricing;
- Collaborating with key stakeholders to identify and pursue business opportunities in the renewable energy market;
- Maintaining knowledge of market trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes to ensure portfolio profitability;
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent diplomas (e.g. in engineering or risk management);
- Long-standing professional experience and technical expertise in the field of renewables;
- Proven leadership skills with prior experience in managing a team and extensive experience in underwriting renewable energy risks;
- Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities to assess risks, pricing, and portfolio performance;
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively engage with clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders;
- A strategic mindset with the ability to develop and execute underwriting strategies aligned with business objectives;
- A willingness to work with and learn about other business segments of the energy portfolio; and
- International experience and willingness to travel.
