Role Overview
We are a global leader in the marine navigation systems industry, providing integrated technical solutions for the commercial sector.
Our organization develops and maintains a wide product portfolio, and currently faces exponential growth underpinned by an ambitious development roadmap.
We have a great opportunity for a skilled professional to join our Project Management team in Hamburg as a Project Director.
The Project Director will be responsible for managing a cross-functional team to deliver radar, chart, service, and navigation products as part of the Sperry Marine Commercial Product Line.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning of individual product configurations up to integrated bridge systems
- Responsibility for the assigned IBS project (Integrated Bridge Navigation System), from the order to final ship handover to the end user
- Manage the project engineering team to create and review technical drawings and documentation
- Ensuring on-time delivery, including sending shipping parts and documentation to the customer
- Supporting the sales team with technical solutions in compliance with all relevant regulations of the classification societies, flag states, ISO, and IEC standards
- Clarifying technical inquiries through to system design
- Cross-departmental cooperation with external and internal customers, such as product management, development, purchasing, sales, and service
- Reporting project status to senior leadership, including schedule, budget, and associated KPIs
About You
What we want from you - your profile:
- Succesfully completed university degree in electrical engineering or comparable training
- Knowledge of project management and digital solutions in the area of network environment and computer application
- Structured and solution-oriented way of working, characterized by process thinking
- Fluency in English to communicate with international clients and teams
- Willingness to make occasional business trips
- Initial knowledge of the maritime environment (navigation equipment and corresponding regulations) is an advantage
