Join Our Team as a Research Assistant in Outdoor Mobile Robotics

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled research assistant to join our team at the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. As a research assistant, you will be responsible for developing and implementing an optimization algorithm that incorporates diverse sensor information to generate ground truth localization data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an optimization algorithm for sensor data fusion
  • Work with our outdoor robot platform CURTmini to evaluate the performance of the algorithm
  • Evaluate existing approaches and derive a novel concept for calculating precise ground truth data
  • Collaborate with our team to integrate the algorithm into our ROS-based system

Requirements:

  • Background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
  • Proficient in C++ and Python programming languages
  • Experience with ROS and data fusion methods
  • Enthusiasm for mobile robotics and sensor data fusion
  • Fluent in English or German
