Research Assistant Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and outstanding researcher to join our team as a Research Assistant in the field of optimization with partial differential equations. The successful candidate will be part of our Research Group »Nonsmooth Variational Problems and Operator Equations« and will work under the supervision of Prof. Dr. M. Hintermüller.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research in optimization with partial differential equations and variational inequalities
  • Develop and implement numerical solution methods for non-smooth coupled systems and data-driven approaches
  • Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and contribute to the production of publications in international peer-reviewed journals
  • Present research results at international conferences and co-support students working at WIAS in this field
Requirements:
  • PhD in mathematics with a strong background in optimization and partial differential equations
  • Previous experience in at least one of the fields mentioned above
  • Excellent knowledge of numerical solution methods and programming skills
  • Very good communication and teamwork skills
