Job Title: Platform Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our Windows-based infrastructure, including servers, clusters, and virtualization environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement Windows Server and virtualization solutions to meet business requirements
  • Configure and manage Windows Server clusters, including failover and migration
  • Implement and manage storage solutions, including SAN, NAS, and DAS
  • Develop and maintain scripts and tools to automate infrastructure tasks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operation of infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Windows Server and virtualization technologies

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in systems development, network operations, software support, technical support, product development, or I.T. consulting
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server Operating System, including NTFS/Share Permissions, File Sharing, Performance Monitoring, Event logging, Task Manager, Windows Firewall, User and Group Management
  • Understanding of WMI and familiarity with WMI queries
  • Active Directory concepts, including Kerberos, LDAP, Sites and Security Groups
  • Understanding of TCP/IP and other networking services: DNS, WINS, DHCP, Routing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)
  • Knowledge of Windows as a Service with its deployment rings concepts
  • Co-management with Microsoft Endpoint Manager (MEM) is an added advantage
