About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Precision Mechanic CNC Specialist to join our team at Embl-Ebi. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for manufacturing precision components and prototypes using state-of-the-art CNC machinery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacture precision components and prototypes using CNC machinery.
  • Interact with internal scientists and visitors to gather requirements.
  • Assemble, align, and test precision mechanical components and systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on precision machinery.
  • Use various tools and equipment to ensure parts meet exact specifications.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Work with engineers and production teams to improve processes and product quality.
  • Document work performed and keep accurate records of inspections and repairs.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and tidy work area.
  • Stay up-to-date with advances in precision engineering and related technologies.

Requirements

  • Technical training in mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a mechanical workshop environment.
  • Experience with standard CAD methods and software.
  • Very good working skills in high precision engineering.
  • Reliability, precision, and good communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good knowledge of English and German.

What We Offer

  • Contract duration: 3 years (renewable up to 9 years)
  • Grading: 4 (monthly salary starting at 3.4k EUR after tax) plus benefits
