Data Driven Materials Research Lead

We are inviting applications for a Data Driven Materials Design Professorship at our Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science.
About the Position:
This is a tenure track position that will involve researching and developing new AI-based approaches to materials design. The successful candidate will be appointed as Head of a research group at INM - Leibniz Institute for New Materials and DFKI, with opportunities for international collaboration through our partnerships in Transform4Europe and the University of the Greater Region.
Key Responsibilities:
The role involves conducting innovative interdisciplinary research, teaching academic courses, and mentoring students. You will have the opportunity to lead a research team and collaborate with experts from various fields. Your research focus should be on developing hybrid materials with potential applications in digital environments and biomedicine.
Requirements:
You must be a university graduate with experience in academic teaching and independent research. Your PhD or doctoral thesis should demonstrate outstanding quality, typically evidenced by peer-reviewed publications. A period of postdoctoral research and some teaching experience at university level are also expected. Your academic background should be in materials science, computer science, or a related field. Ideally, your work should address issues relevant to this professorial position.
Benefits:
The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary estimated at €90,000-€110,000 per year, based on their qualifications and experience.
