Transforming Airport Logistics through Simulation

Siemens Logistics GmbH is a leading provider of innovative solutions for airport logistics. We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as an Expert Material Flow Simulation Specialist.

In this role, you will be responsible for creating and developing advanced simulation models to evaluate systems and specify control strategies. You will also identify and implement optimization opportunities for material handling systems during the planning and execution phases.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining simulation models and supporting software tools
  • Developing, programming, and documenting software modules to ensure integration of multiple functions and dependencies
  • Creating and maintaining emulation models, and supporting in-house software testing
  • Assisting in defining internal and external system acceptance tests, and analyzing and evaluating system test results
  • Preparing detailed proposals, including text and calculations, for simulation projects
  • Modeling and simulating logistics and production processes for turnkey construction projects
  • Evaluating, documenting, and presenting simulation results to internal and external clients
  • Providing optimization and consulting for projects regarding logistics and production planning
  • Validating models in consultation with process experts and aligning processes with real-world construction sites
  • Independently leading and executing simulation projects

Requirements

  • University degree, preferably in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or a related field
  • Programming expertise, proficient in at least one programming language such as C++, Python, or C#
  • Software design experience, skilled in software design and creating reusable standard software modules
  • International working experience is a plus
  • Structured and methodical work approach with excellent communication skills and proficiency in English
  • Open-minded team player who enjoys working in an international environment and highly motivated team with the ability to inspire and achieve goals collaboratively
  • Willing to travel worldwide occasionally
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English due to multi-cultural working environment
