About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Anatomical Pathologist to join our team at Aignostics GmbH. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the execution of client and in-house scientific research programs. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing meaningful and clinically relevant AI applications for a broad range of scientific projects.

As a Pathology Expert, you will work closely with our AI model development teams to support the development of AI-based medical devices. Your diagnostic experience and knowledge of immunohistochemistry and molecular pathology will be essential in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our AI models.

We are looking for a self-driven, organized, and enthusiastic pathologist who is passionate about working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. If you have a strong background in anatomical pathology and are eager to contribute to cutting-edge research, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide annotations over a wide range of tissues and diseases, including malignant and non-malignant pathologies
  • Assess AI model performance and guide model optimization strategies
  • Provide consultations for project designing, scoping, and planning with a focus on clinical/pathological relevance and feasibility
  • Support composition of cohorts and tissue collections in consideration of project aims and epidemiological/clinical requirements
  • Accompany tissue-based quality control initiatives
  • Work in close collaboration with our scientific and technical experts to ensure timely and efficient delivery of tasks
  • Support client presentations with pathological/histological input
  • Educate team members from various backgrounds in relevant pathological topics
  • Provide pathology consultation with regard to development and risk management of AI-based medical devices
Requirements
  • MD with intermediate/advanced training in anatomical pathology or board-certification
  • Diagnostic experience over a wide range of organs and disease entities, including immunohistochemistry and molecular pathology
  • Experience in translational research, ideally with a focus on digital image analysis
  • Curiosity to familiarize oneself with various clinical scientific topics and questions
  • Ability of effective time management and prioritization of various tasks across multiple projects at different stages
  • Excellent communication skills and strong collaboration skills to cooperate with experts from various technical and scientific backgrounds
  • Team player, who enjoys working in an international team
  • Good eye for detail in written and visual communication
  • Fluent in English
