Firefighter (Airfield Rescue)

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter (Airfield Rescue) to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As a Firefighter (Airfield Rescue), you will be responsible for providing emergency response services at airfields handling medium and complex aircraft.
Key Responsibilities:- Respond to emergency situations at airfields, including crash/rescue and firefighting duties.
- Operate firefighting equipment and vehicles, including aerial ladders and rescue equipment.
- Collaborate with host nation fire departments and other emergency responders to ensure effective response to emergencies.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of firefighting equipment and vehicles.
- Participate in training exercises and drills to maintain and improve response skills.
- Minimum Basic Requirements: E&T Level I (completed lower secondary school / Hauptschulabschluss) PLUS German certification as basic fire fighter (abgeschlossene Feuerwehrgrundausbildung, gemaess Feuerwehrdienstvorschrift 2 (FwDV2)).
- Completed training in accordance with the guidelines of the US Forces Fire Prevention Program.
- Host nation equivalent National Emergency Medical Technician (NEMT) certification.
- DoD certification as Firefighter I & II, Driver Operator Pumper, DOD HAZMAT operations, Host Nation SCBA certification (Ausbildung zum Atemschutzgeraetetraeger gem. FwDV 2), radio communicator training (Ausbildung zum Sprechfunker gem. FwDV2).
- Valid host Nation certification to service and recharge fire extinguishers.
Work on weekends and holidays as well as 24-hour shift work required. Occasional temporary duty travel (TDY) required. Heavy lifting up to 100 lbs required. Employee must remain clean-shaven to insure integrity of mask fit for breathing apparatus.
