Business Development Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team at TOMRA Recycling / Feedstock. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring our plastic grading / sorting plants are filled with mixed plastic waste to recycle, as well as driving sales of the output material.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the recycling industry and be able to work strategically with our European network to identify new contacts and establish partnerships. A good understanding of plastic waste and its circularity is essential, as well as the ability to conduct feasibility tests and analyze outcomes.
The role requires approximately 30% travel, with the ability to work remotely the rest of the time. The successful candidate will be responsible for actively setting up and driving initiatives to meet sourcing & sales objectives, strategically intensifying contacts within our European waste & recycling network, and conducting feasibility tests with potential input material.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively set up and drive initiatives to meet sourcing & sales objectives
- Strategically intensify contacts within our European waste & recycling network
- Conduct feasibility tests with potential input material and analyze outcomes
- SUCCESSFULLY lead commercial negotiations and close agreements accordingly to secure input material
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of working experience in a similar role in analyzing waste / recycling plants to fulfill sourcing needs
- Understanding of recycling processes and specifics of plastic waste
- Knowledge related to purchasing of input materials management is appreciated
- Strong communication skills adapting per target group, being fluent in English with German and / or another European language as a plus
- Purpose-driven personality, being intrinsic motivated and able to build trustful relationships with partners
Education:
- University degree in economics, engineering or waste management
- Additional commercial experience is a must
