We are seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the position of Full Professor in Chemosensory Food Systems and Director of the Leibniz-Institute for Food Systems Biology at the Technical University of Munich.

About the Position

The successful candidate will be appointed as a Full Professor at TUM and will lead the Leibniz-Institute for Food Systems Biology. The position involves managing the institute, conducting research, teaching, and promoting early-career scientists.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the Leibniz-Institute for Food Systems Biology
  • Conduct research in chemosensory food systems, including structural decoding and functional reconstruction of chemosensory signatures of foods and beverages
  • Teach courses in food science, including food chemistry, biology, nutrition, and biomedicine, and food technology and biotechnology
  • Promote early-career scientists and attract third-party funding
Requirements
  • University degree and outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification
  • International research and teaching reputation and established academic record
  • Research experience abroad and proven ability to attract third-party funding
  • Key expertise in management and setting up scientific collaborations
