Senior Flavor Application Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Flavor Innovation Laboratory Lead to join our team at DSM. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Sweet Goods & Beverages Application Laboratory and Technical team in Fircol.

The successful candidate will motivate and mentor the team in line with DSM-Firmenich core values and competencies. They will facilitate a team approach and secure implementation of Zonal & Local Technical Goals, positioning DSM-Firmenich as the flavor supplier to count on for competitive added value market knowledge, brand understanding, winning flavors, and technologies.

• Build strategic partnerships with functions (Creation, Marketing, Collection Management), the European Technical Team, Sales, and other DSM-Firmenich groups, promoting collaborative teamwork to meet our needs and deliver on the strategy.
• Tailor and deploy the strategy by focusing on our clients, core categories, and core brands. Assess results through the year and contribute to highlighting local needs for future strategy reviews and alignments.
• Assure that laboratory and equipment are regulatory serviced and maintained according to local regulations and DSM-Firmenich HS&E policy.
• Set objectives, conduct progress reviews, and CPI for the local technical team in collaboration with REU Technical Management.
• Enforce company policies/rules and good laboratory practices following established HSE rules.
• Carry out various food applications to highlight Firmenich flavors solutions and develop new foods/beverages formulations based on industrial standards and country-specific requirements.
• Select and evaluate right flavor solutions in compliance with legal, costs, clients, and applications requirements.
• Understand commercial needs of brief, value, and price criteria.
• Technical contact for certain key clients/categories.

• Secondary education - in a food-related subject (Msc).
• Good understanding and speaking/writing in English.
• Significant experience in a laboratory position.
• Passion in food preparation/tasting.
