We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Quantum Computing Materials Designer to join our team at Robert Bosch GmbH. In this exciting PhD opportunity, you will focus on developing and testing hybrid quantum-classical workflows, simulation tools, and quantum algorithms for materials simulation.
Job DescriptionThe role involves researching relevant models for simulating industrially relevant materials on near-term quantum computers. You will work closely with our research team to design and optimize quantum circuits for materials simulation, leveraging your expertise in density functional theory, Hubbard models, and quantum computing.
- This PhD thesis offers the opportunity to make significant contributions to the field of quantum computing and materials science.
- You will be part of a dynamic research team working on cutting-edge projects, collaborating with experts from academia and industry.
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in physics, chemistry, or computational science, with a focus on theoretical solid-state physics, quantum mechanics, or quantum computing. Additional knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Fortran, or C is desirable.
- Your excellent communication skills and ability to work independently will enable you to contribute effectively to the team and manage your research project.
- Languages: business fluent in English, knowledge of German is an asset.
