Job Description

We are currently accepting applications for a Housekeeper I, day shift (however the college may change shift hours if needed for agency operations). This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Keeping inside buildings and outside grounds areas neat and clean
  • Performing housekeeping duties such as cleaning classrooms and restrooms; sweep, damp mop, clean up spills, and empty trash
  • Stripping, sealing, washing, and buffing floors as assigned
  • Coordinating and assisting with set up of equipment and furniture for events or as needed
  • Responsible for making periodic rounds of the building and parking lots to assure the safety of students, faculty, staff, and security of equipment. Report any problems to the Buildings & Grounds Supervisor
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in performance of cleaning tasks, floor care, restroom cleaning, and general custodial care
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and use of cleaning chemicals and supplies and of safety practices as related to the work
  • Ability to perform a variety of cleaning tasks, lift and move heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate manual and power equipment
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer service
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $26,732, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The college offers a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Please note that this position requires occasional weekend and night shifts and alternate schedule during special events or if needed for agency operations.
