Professorship in Experimental Astroparticle Physics

We are seeking a highly qualified professor to join our Department of Physics at Technische Universität Dortmund. The successful candidate will hold a professorship in experimental astroparticle physics, with a focus on experiments in neutrino astronomy and/or particle physics of air showers.
Research FocusThe research area of this professorship will be experimental astroparticle physics, with a focus on experiments in neutrino astronomy and/or particle physics of air showers. The successful candidate is expected to participate in research networks and cooperations within and outside TU Dortmund University, for example in the «Ruhr Astroparticle and Plasma Physics Center» of the University Alliance Ruhr.
Teaching and Research ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be expected to participate in teaching activities of the department and contribute to the development of scientific instruments and the analysis of experimental data in the research field of the professorship.
Requirements- Doctorate in physics obtained with above-average success
- Post-doctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) or an equivalent qualification
- International publications in recognized peer-reviewed journals, especially in the last years
- Willingness and potential for the acquisition of third-party funding
- Teaching excellence
- Contributions to both data analysis and development of scientific instruments
- Track record in competitive third-party funding acquisition
- Continuous international publications in recognized peer-reviewed journals
- High international visibility
- Integration in international research networks
- Experiences in teaching and supervision of students
