About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team at Flexa. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our Virtual Power Plant (VPP) system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable and efficient software solutions for our VPP system.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, to develop and implement optimization logic and automated trading execution.
  • Mentor and guide team members to improve their workflows and knowledge.
  • Define and foster engineering best practices and teach engineers and data scientists on how to design and deliver well-built, maintainable, and iterable solutions.
  • Support colleagues during onboarding, daily operations, and strategic tasks.
  • Implement optimization and trading algorithms with a focus on immediate go-lives and long-term strategic advancement of our platform.
  • Maintain and improve our tech stack and development environments, including building infrastructure and services.
About You

We are looking for a highly experienced software engineer with a strong background in cloud-based software development, Python, and energy industry experience. You should have a proven track record of delivering pragmatic solutions and working effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering (backend and algorithmic) in the cloud.
  • 2-3 years of experience with Python, including object-oriented design.
  • 2+ years of experience in onboarding, mentoring, and coaching colleagues in junior positions.
  • Evidence of pragmatic delivery.
  • Experience working cross-functionally, especially with Product and Data Science teams.
  • Team player with the ability to work on solutions individually.
  • Experience and desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking.
  • Full business proficiency in English.
