Senior Commodity Engineer for Standard Semiconductors

Position Overview: Corporate Commodity Engineer (f/m/d) for Standard Semiconductors
In this role, you will leverage your technical acumen, refine the commodity strategy, promote standardization, and advocate for sustainability within the global supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Expertise: Act as the go-to technical authority and mentor for a variety of Standard Semiconductors (including analog, discrete, opto, logic components, and Timing Devices) within the SCM Pooled Direct organization.
- Commodity Strategy Development: Collaborate closely with commercial partners, including PuC Managers for Commodity Components and Integrated Circuits, to establish and drive the commodity strategy for your designated material area, focusing on Cost and Value Engineering, Supplier Portfolio Management, Innovation Management, Supplier Quality Management, and Sustainability.
- Portfolio Management: Develop and implement a standardization strategy related to raw materials, components, technology, and base specifications to facilitate the structured selection of advantageous components from a streamlined supply base.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Work in tandem with the supplier network and internal cross-functional teams to actively contribute to Siemens' sustainability objectives.
- Innovation Management: Identify and evaluate innovative ideas, proposals, solutions, and products from suppliers, assessing their potential impact and applicability for Siemens. Selected innovations that meet the needs of your cross-functional partners will be developed and implemented.
- Cost & Value Engineering: Support the organization by managing and executing Cost and Value Engineering projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams, deriving efficiency measures from cost and price transparency.
- Supplier Portfolio Management: Influence the selection of preferred suppliers and components during the early design phase, providing technical insights and cost information. Oversee the selection, introduction, development, and phase-out of suppliers, coordinating pre-assessment and audit activities within your cross-functional team.
- Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with your cross-business team to implement a proactive Supplier Quality strategy that ensures compliance with evolving requirements, enhances supplier performance, and mitigates supply chain risks.
- Leadership and Networking: Lead and coordinate global technology and quality networks, ensuring timely information exchange.
- Completed university degree in electrical engineering, industrial engineering and management, or a related field.
- Extensive professional experience in Supply Chain Management, product development, R&D, and/or engineering roles.
- Strategic and innovative mindset, strong decision-making abilities, customer-centric approach, and a focus on results, networking, and partnership building.
- Proficient problem-solving skills, capable of critical and analytical thinking to navigate challenges and devise innovative solutions.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- In-depth knowledge of the manufacturing and application of relevant products.
- Expertise in project management, cost analysis, optimization, and managing cross-functional and multicultural teams.
- International experience and adaptability to diverse cultures, with a preference for candidates who have led global teams.
- Familiarity with preventive quality methods, quality management systems, and audit experience for electronic components and production processes.
- Ideally, knowledge of relevant procurement processes.
- Fluency in both German and English, written and spoken, is essential.
