About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to join our platform team at Aroundhome. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving new ideas and initiatives to enhance our developer experience.

Your primary focus will be on improving product delivery by putting the developer experience first, effectively reducing cognitive load. You will envision and build easy-to-use tooling and tech stacks, understand developers' needs and pain points, and help transform our classical platform team into a product delivery team that works for our internal tech customers.

You will maintain and continuously leverage the advantages of the cloud, constantly evaluating innovative approaches to stay ahead of the curve.

Key Responsibilities
  • Improve product delivery by prioritizing the developer experience
  • Envision and build easy-to-use tooling and tech stacks
  • Understand developers' needs and pain points
  • Help transform the platform team into a product delivery team
  • Maintain and leverage cloud advantages
  • Continuously evaluate innovative approaches
Requirements
  • Passionate and experienced Platform Engineer or cloud-affine software developer
  • Engineering background (ideally with Go, Ruby, or Typescript)
  • Strong knowledge and experience with cloud environments (AWS), container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker), and Infrastructure-as-Code technologies (Terraform)
  • Familiarity with logging-, monitoring-, and alerting solutions (DataDog & Linux/Unix)
  • Passionate about ensuring developers have the right tools, processes, and environment to maximize productivity
