Job Description

Serco is a leading Space Services Provider with a strong presence in the European space industry. We are seeking a highly skilled Mission Controller to join our team at EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the mission control system on a 24/7 shift basis, ensuring the smooth operation of the ground and space segments.
  • Assist in configuring and testing the operational system to support mission operations.
  • Take corrective action in case of ground or space segment anomalies, applying contingency/emergency procedures to ensure spacecraft safety and continuity of service provision.
  • Participate in other operations-related activities, such as small system development, procedure development, and maintenance, as required.
Requirements
  • Experience working with computer systems and strong PC literacy.
  • Adaptable, self-disciplined, and able to work in a calm and correct manner under conditions of stress.
  • Ability to work a shift rotation.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Relevant technical background, preferably in electronics/telecommunications, avionics, air defense, air radar, or communications.
  • Desirable: degree in a relevant subject such as IT, telecommunications, physics, or aerospace engineering.
