About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geospatial Systems Architect to join our team at General Dynamics Information Technology. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge geospatial systems that meet the needs of our clients.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a strong background in geographic information systems (GIS), operating systems, and system architecture. They will be responsible for:

  • Designing and developing GIS systems and infrastructure to ensure high levels of performance, security, and availability.
  • Authoring and updating documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) on new and existing GIS systems.
  • Staying current on operating systems, GIS software, hardware, and technological developments to recommend improvements and enhance mission and operational effectiveness.
  • Providing expertise and direction in the development or modification of software programs and applications to enhance the GIS system.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent technical training and work/military experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on GIS and system architecture.
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Application Suite, SQL and NoSQL data stores, and storage systems and common virtualization technologies.
  • Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical issues and propose courses of action to leadership.

Estimated salary range for this position is $102,000 - $138,000. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location.
