About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Pre-Construction Manager to join our team at Amazon Deutschland Services GmbH - A11. As a key member of our Design and Construction team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage complex, cross-functional industrial projects from site selection through design completion, permitting, and contract execution.
  • Coordinate with design teams and project stakeholders to contribute to the performance of the team, building trust and respect in all working relationships.
  • Keep the scope under control and accelerate progress by driving crisp and timely decisions, identifying and clearing blockers, and escalating appropriately.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to drive results through communication, risk assessment, decision-making, leadership, and influence.
  • Oversee professional service providers to ensure their skills and competencies meet the needs required for entitlement property and projects.
  • Perform pricing reviews for scope inclusions/exclusions and negotiate the cost of work with developers, general contractors, and design consultants.
  • Estimate costs, manage due diligence, schedule tracking, and forecasting, including identifying and solving factors that may impede a successful permitted project hand-over.
  • Supervise the implementation and management of Amazon's safety programs and standards.
  • Negotiate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers.

Requirements
  • A completed Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a comparable field.
  • Solid demonstrable experience as an Architect, Engineer, Construction Manager, Development Manager, Owner's project management representative, or other Commercial Development and Construction related disciplines.
  • Solid demonstrable project management experience from design phase through implementation and operation, negotiating construction, procurement, and labor contracts.
  • Experience within packaging processing/logistical facilities with complex equipment or comparable experience will be appreciated.
  • Fluent in German and English.
  • Willingness to travel frequently through Europe, up to 30% of the time.
