Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute advanced technology projects leveraging government funding, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide strategic guidance and coaching to a team of scientists and engineers specializing in various technology areas.
- Encourage technology realization programs utilizing our internal project execution processes.
- Foster an environment for creativity and innovation, promoting the generation of value-added intellectual property.
- Facilitate communication and cooperation between Eaton locations in the region and globally.
- Develop research proposals and obtain government funding to advance research in the area of Energy Systems, as relevant for Eaton.
- Support technology roadmaps and strategies for the European region, developing relationships with Eaton stakeholders.
- Guide and develop the technical staff, providing coaching and guidance.
- The position will report to the VP Engineering Technology EMEA and be functional to the Global Technology Manager.
- PhD or MSc degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Industrial experience in power and energy systems.
- R&D experience in distributed energy resource (DER) integration and management, microgrid, power distribution systems modeling, analysis, monitoring, and control, protection, EV charging infrastructure, and grid integration.
- Experience in developing and executing EU and German government-funded projects to advance research and product development in power and energy systems.
- Experience in managing lab/experimental infrastructure, including power and control hardware in the loop testing facilities.
- Program management experience in new product development innovation processes.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and German (oral and written).
