Job Title: Senior Designer - Color and Materials Expert

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Designer to join our Color and Materials team at adidas. As a Senior Designer, you will be responsible for creating innovative and industry-leading color directions for footwear and apparel, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive implementation of the seasonal color strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and visualize color concepts and application for apparel and footwear, staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies.
  • Lead the seasonal preparation and research process, shaping the creative vision and direction for the seasonal color palette.
  • Implement the creative vision seasonally, supporting in-season color direction and go-to-market presentation needs.
  • Manage the creative process, lead, and mentor project members as a key stakeholder on concept level and in communication.
  • Ensure efficient process and communication flow between design teams and cross-functional partners.
  • Use digital tools to visualize concepts, create physical samples, and work with the Footwear materials team to create cohesive color and materials design concepts.
  • Co-lead the process of physical creation of technical color standards, understanding the chemical process and make-up of color standards, and collaborating with the Color Management team.
  • Verbally present color concept ideas and details with clarity and credibility.
  • Create design presentations, physical and digital, and co-present at milestone presentations.
  • Collaborate with the Color Creative Direction team, providing color content and direction, and critiquing and understanding technical details of the product.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of practical experience in design environment (Footwear/Apparel/Accessories or industrial design, fashion design, or similar design-related areas).
  • Thorough knowledge of art and design, with a clear understanding of visual design or design-related discipline and conceptual storytelling.
  • Expert knowledge and experience in CMF, Footwear, Apparel, or Accessories design.
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and collaborate with key business partners.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to design for new initiatives and products with a fresh, innovative perspective.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
Education and Experience:
  • Associates degree or bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a college or university with Art, Fashion, or Product Design focus.
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for degree.
