Logistics Expert for Global Shipping

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Expert for Global Shipping to join our team in Leipzig, Germany.

About the Role

As a key member of our shipping team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of shipments from our warehouse. Your expertise in logistics and problem-solving skills will be instrumental in maintaining our high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • CORRESPONDENCE WITH INTERNAL DEPARTMENTS: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless communication and resolve any issues that may arise during the shipping process.
  • COMPLIANCE WITH OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND PROCESS SPECIFICATIONS: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • CARRYING OUT INTERNAL AUDITS AND CONTROLS: Conduct regular audits to identify areas for improvement and implement measures to optimize our processes.
  • TRAINING EMPLOYEES ON QUALITY STANDARDS: Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on our quality standards and expectations.
  • IDENTIFYING POTENTIAL FOR IMPROVEMENT AND IMPLEMENTING MEASURES: Continuously monitor and evaluate our processes to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes as needed.
  • MONITORING AND ANALYSING KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS: Track and analyze key performance indicators to support operational decision-making.
  • ACCURATE AND EFFICIENT HANDLING OF ENQUIRIES AND PROBLEMS: Provide timely and effective resolution to customer inquiries and problems.
  • TICKET PROCESSING IN VARIOUS TICKET SYSTEMS: Process and manage tickets in multiple ticket systems to ensure prompt issue resolution.
  • CONTACT PERSON FOR CUSTOMER CARE, TRANSPORT SERVICE PROVIDERS, AND CUSTOMS MATTERS: Serve as the primary point of contact for customer care, transport service providers, and customs-related matters.
  • RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE PROPER HANDLING OF THE SHIPMENT OF GOODS: Ensure accurate and efficient handling of shipments from receipt to dispatch.
  • WRITTEN AND VERBAL COMMUNICATION WITH FORWARDING AGENTS: Maintain effective communication with forwarding agents to ensure smooth operations.
  • MONITORING DELIVERY DATES AND PROCESSING COMPLAINTS: Monitor delivery dates and process complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • PROCESSING SHIPPING ORDERS AND PREPARING DELIVERY AND CUSTOMS DOCUMENTS: Prepare and process shipping orders, delivery documents, and customs clearance documentation.
  • MONITORING DEADLINES, PAYMENTS, AND OUTSTANDING DOCUMENTATION: Oversee deadlines, payments, and outstanding documentation to ensure timely completion of tasks.

About You

We're looking for someone with a commercial background or experience in logistics, ideally with knowledge of warehouse management and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with customs clearance procedures is a plus. You'll need to be proficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel, and have a strong affinity for numbers and analytical skills. We value independent, structured, and responsible work habits. Strong German and good English language skills are essential, along with flexibility and a hands-on mentality. Willingness to work shifts is required.
