Material Management/Work Supervision Employee

Job Summary:

The Material Management/Work Supervision Employee will be responsible for ensuring an even flow and distribution of work, expeditious handling of priority transactions or documents, and meeting of schedules and deadlines. This role will also involve assigning local national employees equitably, providing technical direction to subordinates, and reviewing work in progress or upon completion to assess accuracy.

  • Assign local national employees equitably.
  • Provide technical direction to subordinates and assist them in processing unusual transactions.
  • Review work in progress or upon completion to assess accuracy.
  • Reject or amend work not meeting standards, maintain records of work accomplishments and time expended, and prepare reports.
  • Advise Branch Chief on performance requirements of their Positions and advise of any individual employee problems in meeting these requirements.
  • Informally recommend personnel actions, e.g., promotions, recognition of outstanding performance, and disciplinary actions.
  • Resolve simple informal complaints of employees and refer others to supervisor.
  • Train newly assigned personnel and conduct cross-training within the activity.
  • Ensure all employees stay proficient on specialist GCSS Army, a SAP application, in order to maintain level of program access required.
  • Coordinate and participate in complex supply transactions requiring participation of all sections within the branch, such as processing of FLIPLs, equipment transfers, requests for issue and turn-in of all commodities served from expandable shop equipment to a DA level controlled heavy engineer equipment, etc.
  • Advises and assists hand receipt holders in matters concerning interpretation of regulations and directives relating to turn-in of property, lateral transfers, and requisition of unusual items.
  • Lead will have responsibility of teaching new and present employees on GCSS-Army Unit Level and Property Book Level occurrences.
  • Lead will be the Subject Matter Expert of all functions of GCSS-Army.
  • Advises on improvements, simplification, and possible savings in supply matters.
  • Makes studies of matters of particular interest of the Property Book Officer, points out potential problem areas, and recommends possible solutions.
  • Coordinates warehousing activities with supply and property control requirements.
  • Participates in inventories as required.

Requirements:

  • 2 years of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 2 years of experience as defined in B below.
  • Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation must have 2 additional years of creditable experience as described in A below.
  • 1 year of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 2 years of experience as defined in B below.
  • 1 year of experience as defined in B below.
  • No additional experience required.

Education & Training Levels:

E&T Level I: 2 years of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 2 years of experience as defined in B below.

E&T Level II: 1 year of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 2 years of experience as defined in B below.

E&T Level III: 1 year of experience as defined in B below.

E&T Level IV: No additional experience required.

Language Proficiency:

English Language Proficiency Level C1 required.

Additional Requirements:

  • Office automation skills required.
  • Applicant must be in the possession of a valid driver's license class B and must be able to obtain/maintain a military motor vehicle operator's license.
