Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Opto-Mechanic Design Engineer to join our team at the Oberkochen site. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing complex opto-mechanical and kinematic systems, from concept development to production readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize opto-mechanical systems, taking into account installation space, thermo-mechanical criteria, and manufacturing costs.
  • Derive requirements for subordinate functional units and define suitable materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Execute tolerance analyses and budgeting, considering manufacturability and adjustability.
  • Calculate strength, service life, wear, dimensioning, and weight of designed parts.
  • Provide developed constructive solutions in the data management system (SAP).
  • Define test requirements and participate in engineering or verification tests.
  • Support prototype construction and series production.
  • Closely cooperate with interdisciplinary project teams.

Requirements

  • Degree in precision engineering, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or similar.
  • Several years of experience in design, ideally in precision mechanical component design.
  • Experience with 3D CAD system Creo4.
  • Knowledge of technical optics.
  • SAP knowledge (material master, parts lists).
  • Good understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Strong communication skills and team orientation.
  • Independent, quality-oriented, and solution-focused work style.
  • Very good German and good English skills.
