Payroll Specialist

As a Payroll Specialist at Avantor, you will be part of our dynamic Payroll Operations Team in Europe. Your responsibility will include processing payroll for our German locations and selected European countries. The Role:As a Payroll Specialist, you will be the central figure in coordinating and executing our payroll processes. Your task will be to ensure accurate and timely delivery of payroll to our employees. You will work closely with various teams such as HR Operations, HRBPs, Total Rewards, and the HR Tech Team, and report directly to the Senior Manager European Payroll.
Your Key Responsibilities:- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of payroll to our employees, including data preparation and forwarding to relevant payroll providers.
- Review calculations, conduct deviation analyses, and ensure compliance with company controls and local regulations.
- Collaborate with local partners to ensure proper taxation and submission.
- Support accounting in creating required reports.
- Respond to internal and external stakeholders' inquiries.
- Optimize and document the payroll process.
- Contribute to creating key performance indicators and reports to track and monitor payroll performance.
- 3 or more years of direct experience in payroll processing in a multinational finance or HR environment.
- Experience with payroll processing in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland is mandatory; additional European countries are a strong plus.
- Thorough understanding of tax and social security regulations.
- Attention to detail and drive for process efficiency.
- Cultural awareness and fluent English and German language skills; additional languages are a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or Finance is preferred but not required.
- Excellent Excel skills; experience with Sage and Workday is beneficial.
