As part of our graduate training program in Scalable 2D-Materials Architectures (2D-MATURE), we seek talented PhD candidates to join our interdisciplinary team. This program offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with leading researchers from the University of Duisburg-Essen, RWTH Aachen University, and the University of Waterloo, Canada. The successful candidates will embark on a transformative journey, exploring cutting-edge research topics and developing novel synthesis and processing routes for 2D materials.
The research focus of 2D-MATURE encompasses the scalable synthesis and processing of 2D materials, understanding interface-controlled functionality in realistic architectures, and demonstrating showcase applications. Our collaborative team consists of experts from electrical, mechanical, and chemical engineering, as well as physics and chemistry, working towards bringing promising new 2D materials from the laboratory to the marketplace.
Synopsis
- We are inviting applications for positions in the following areas: synthesis and processing of scalable 2D materials, analysis and modeling of their functionality in realistic architectures, and implementation of these materials in optoelectronic and energy storage devices.
- A subset of these positions will be for a «cotutelle» between UDE and UW, where the candidates will spend equal time at both institutions.
