Risk Management and Internal Controls Specialist

sennder is a leading digital freight forwarder transforming the logistics industry by connecting shippers with truck carriers through innovative technology. We are seeking a seasoned Manager to lead our Internal Controls and Risk Management team in Berlin.
About the RoleThe Manager of Internal Controls and Risk Management will oversee sennder's internal control environment, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. This role involves collaborating with various departments to develop, implement, and monitor effective internal control systems and risk management strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a comprehensive internal control framework.
- Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.
- Conduct periodic reviews and testing of internal controls to identify weaknesses and recommend improvements.
- Prepare and present reports on the status of internal controls to senior management and the board of directors.
- Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.
- Identify, assess, and prioritize risks across the organization.
- Collaborate with business units to develop risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
- Monitor and report on the status of risk management activities.
- Foster a culture of risk awareness and internal control consciousness throughout the organization.
- Work closely with the finance, commercial, operations, and technology teams to integrate risk management into strategic decision-making processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in internal controls, risk management, audit, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO) and risk management principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
