We are a leading international technology group in the areas of specialty glass and glass ceramics. We are looking for a highly skilled Computational Materials Scientist to join our Research & Development Team at our headquarters in Mainz.

Your Contribution

  • Integration of materials simulation and materials informatics approaches with R&D processes to drive innovation and improve product quality.
  • In-depth analysis of material-process-property relations to meet future product requirements and stay ahead of the competition.
  • Translation of insights into industrial practice to ensure seamless implementation and maximum impact.
  • Responsibility for ambitious development projects that require expertise in glass and glass ceramics.
  • Networking with scientific community and technology providers to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements and trends.

Your Profile

  • Excellent PhD in physics, chemistry, or materials science with a strong background in computational materials science.
  • Proficiency in one major programming language (Python, C++, C, Fortran, etc.) and experience with materials simulation and informatics tools.
  • Experience in glass and glass ceramics, industrial development, machine-learned interatomic potentials, and/or data engineering is a plus.
  • Fluent business English (written and spoken), willingness to learn German, and excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel abroad for business purposes.
