Laboratory Development Engineer

At Volocopter GmbH, we are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Development Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Laboratory Testing Team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining test benches for various aircraft systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop test benches for Flight Controls, Avionics, and Propulsion systems.
- Define hardware and software requirements for test setups and assist with procurement of necessary components.
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to develop, modify, and retrofit test benches.
- Work with test engineers to develop realistic and representative testing scenarios.
- Ensure configuration control and calibration of test bench equipment.
- Modify test bench signals database following Interface Control Documents (ICD) provided by suppliers.
- Troubleshoot and support test campaigns across different environments.
- Diagnose and resolve issues during testing to guarantee reliable and accurate results.
- Automate and optimize testing processes for greater efficiency and scalability.
- Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience with scalable hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with NI data acquisition systems and related technologies.
- Experience with automating failure insertion techniques for aircraft systems.
- Expertise in data acquisition and signal generation for analog sensors.
- Knowledge of aerospace databuses such as CAN/ARINC-825 and ARINC-429.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ and Python.
- Strong team player with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary environments.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
