Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Analog Layout Design Intern to join our team at Renesas Electronics. As a key member of our Analog Layout Design Team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality projects and collaborating with other engineers to resolve technical issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize EDA tools (Cadence and Synopsys) for layout design and verification, with a focus on cell and block level creation, editing, and full verification.
  • Apply state-of-the-art layout techniques for matching, ESD, latch-up prevention, and parasitic reduction, with a strong understanding of the physical process.
  • Participate in project meetings, assess and report on timescale risks, and contribute to the preparation of related documents and data for wafer tape out.
  • Where possible, use schematic-driven layout and consider top-level auto-routing.

Qualifications:

  • Student in Electrical/Electronic, Physics, Computer, or related fields
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Good understanding of integrated analog circuit design
  • Good understanding of chip layout in cell and block level creation, editing, and full verification
  • Highly self-motivated and adaptable
  • Basic knowledge of CMOS-related devices, including high-voltage, and the ability to decipher design manuals

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with layout techniques for matching, ESD, latch-up prevention, and parasitic reduction, with a strong understanding of the physical process
  • Experience in analog IC/mixed signals IC layout designs and verifications, with the ability to perform chip size reduction
