About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Platform Engineer to join our team at MML SGO Bietigheim. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical support to customers for all products in the Mechatronics business area
  • Presenting and explaining innovative mechatronic products to customers, such as door locks and spindle drives for doors and flaps
  • Coordinating customer requests regarding development, testing, and approval
  • Supporting technical presentations
  • Monitoring projects to ensure timely development progress and open issues
  • Providing documentation for projects in a timely manner
  • Developing concepts and proposals for our customers
  • Verifying the completeness and functional goals of load specifications
  • Confirming the functional properties of products (specification) in terms of achieving functional goals (load specification)
  • Compliance with development processes and guidelines
  • Supporting the smooth start of our products in series production
  • Ensuring the commercial scope for technical changes throughout the product's lifecycle

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Diploma in Automotive Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Knowledge of metal and plastic component design
  • Experience in project management, FMEA, QFD, VA/VE, QFD, and 8D
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD systems, particularly Catia V5 or Unigraphics
  • Strong understanding of mechanical relationships and willingness to continuously optimize and solve problems
  • Excellent German and English language skills in writing and speaking

Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

  • At least 2 years of experience in development in the automotive or supplier industry, preferably in the area of door locks and spindle drives for doors and flaps
