About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Ruby on Rails Developer to join our team at Pair Finance GmbH. As a key member of our tech squad, you will be responsible for managing the AI workflow engine and cloud infrastructure. Your expertise in Ruby on Rails, CSS, JavaScript, and backend infrastructure technologies will be instrumental in driving innovation and enhancement of our AI-based platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a squad of software developers, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and support career development.
  • Lead by example with hands-on coding and code reviews, ensuring high code quality and best practices.
  • Foster a collaborative and growth-oriented environment, ensuring clear communication and effective team dynamics.
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, high-performance software architectures.
  • Collaborate with the product team to understand and fulfill product roadmap requirements.
  • Work on new features and feature improvements together with internal stakeholders.
  • Configure, maintain, and improve deployment infrastructures, server environments, and testing infrastructure.
  • Ensure scalability, performance, availability, and security of our systems.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience within the field of web development and software engineering.
  • Experience managing a team and ability to motivate developers to deliver great results.
  • Excellent knowledge of backend and frontend development and technologies, particularly Ruby on Rails, CSS, JavaScript, and good knowledge in backend infrastructure technologies like Linux, AWS, Continuous Integration/Delivery, Docker.
  • Solid understanding of SQL.
  • Deep understanding of architecture patterns such as Message Queue systems, Pub/Sub systems, Event Sourcing, and Microservices architecture.
  • Very good communication skills in English.
