Electromagnetic Simulation Expert

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD researcher to accelerate the electromagnetic finite element simulation for the design and optimization of electrical machines.
The successful candidate will improve and extend the finite element simulation developed by Bosch, enabling full code access at all levels and offering the unique opportunity to carry out optimization measures down to the core of the solver.
The acceleration of finite element simulations directly results in faster calculation of e-machine designs and therefore faster product development. At the same time, it is also possible to react more quickly to changing customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement advanced numerical methods for electromagnetic finite element simulation
- Improve and extend the finite element simulation developed by Bosch
- Apply adaptive approaches and parallelization to accelerate finite element simulations
- Collaborate with the Bosch Business Units to transfer beneficial results of the PhD to e-machine product development
- Excellent university degree (Master or comparable) in Computational Electromagnetics, Numerical Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or comparable
- Sound knowledge of numerical methods for partial differential equations such as FE method, numerical algorithms for solving non-linear and linear systems as well as time integration methods
- Practical knowledge of object-oriented programming as well as confident handling of C++ and Python
- Experience with software development tools (version control with e.g., Git, Visual Studio)
