Master Data Application Owner

As a global supplier, Symrise operates a complex network of suppliers, manufacturers, and customers, requiring efficient and effective management of master data to ensure seamless operations.
Your RoleAs the Master Data Application Owner at Symrise, you will be part of the Finance Center of Excellence and lead one of our Core Teams. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and maintain the entire Symrise scope of master data, focusing on all types of master data, including materials, customers, and cost objects.
The position requires a high level of expertise in master data management, with a strong understanding of the interrelation among master data content, governance, and processes. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a master data governance model to sustain a high level of data management quality, in close alignment with business functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a small core team in Finance CoE and maintain and animate a virtual organization in businesses of MDOs and Key users.
- Develop a master data governance model to sustain a high level of data management quality.
- Coordinate the collection of business needs and project requirements, evaluate, and elaborate the overall project portfolio and master data deployment strategic roadmap.
- Act as business project manager in the early implementation steps, aiming at setting up the platform and consolidating master data in MDG.
- Support integration of newly acquired entities by providing expertise and solutions to integrate their master data and enable a fast integration of their data in Symrise's analytic landscape.
- Align and support MDOs with enabling actions and tools, either around training and knowledge management, or data quality assessment, methodology, and planning of their actions in master data management.
- Monitor and secure the timely update of master data in central platforms of all entities, either automatically or manually, and confirm master data quality.
We are looking for an experienced Manager with a strong background in master data management, who can negotiate and interact at various levels in the organization and align contradicting views or needs.
Key Requirements:
- Very good experience in master data management at a level of understanding the interrelation among master data content, governance, and processes.
- Ability to negotiate and interact at various levels in the organization and align contradicting views or needs.
- Experience in managing global projects and steering external and internal resources.
- Logical and conceptual way of thinking, with the ability to figure business implications of proposed solutions and deal with detailed and complex issues.
- Experience with SAP ERP processes and ability to support or run ERP end-to-end processes.
- Fluency in business English and ideally a good command of another major language.
