Carpentry Instructor

We are seeking a skilled Carpentry Teacher to join our team at the Lawrenceville Correctional Center. As a Carpentry Teacher, you will be responsible for providing effective Career and Technical instruction in the assigned trade area, assisting students to complete required competencies, and maintaining accurate student records.

• Provide effective Career and Technical instruction in the assigned trade area
• Assist students to complete required competencies for the trade area
• Maintain accurate and current student records
• Ensure the lab is operated in compliance with all aspects of safety management

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• At least two years of full-time or 2000 hours of verifiable experience in the relevant field/trade area within the last 5 years
• Eligibility for an Industrial/Technical Professional License/Certification in the relevant trade area/field
• Eligibility for a teaching certificate by the Department of Education

Experience in correctional education classroom management and knowledge of all phases of the trade area are highly desirable.
