Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Team Lead to join our Development department at our Wetzlar site.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical management of the design team
- Analysis of customer requirements and examination of implementation options
- Deriving technical requirements from specifications
- Creation of concepts taking into account functional, economic, and time requirements and control of technical implementation
- Designing complex opto-mechanical systems and associated assembly and testing equipment
- Definition of test requirements and involvement in engineering tests and verification
- Calculation of development costs and planning of development periods
- Capacity planning of the design team including prioritization
- Supporting the start of production and series support
- Closing cooperation in interdisciplinary project teams and with external partners
Requirements
- Degree in precision engineering, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, or similar
- Several years of professional experience in leading a design team
- Several years of professional experience in design, preferably in the field of opto-mechanics
- Experience in working with SAP
- Experience with composite materials and finite element analysis advantageous
- Sound knowledge of a 3D CAD system, preferably Creo4
- Affinity for optical and optoelectronic devices
- Good understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
- Creative and solution-oriented way of working as well as strong communication skills and team orientation
- Very good knowledge of German and English
