Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to support our team in Ilmenau, Germany. As an integral part of our research group, you will contribute to the development of innovative technologies for robust, trustworthy AI-based analysis and classification of audio and video data.

Key Responsibilities

As a Research Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with our research team to develop machine learning algorithms for acoustic condition monitoring and 3D audio technologies;
  • Designing and implementing experiments to analyze and recognize faces for media and security applications;
  • Developing small loudspeakers with big sound using intelligent actuator-sensor systems;
  • Composing catchy tunes thanks to intelligent music production using robust, AI-based recognition and analysis of music and audio data;
  • Providing sound for virtual prototypes through auralization of virtual products in different acoustic environments.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Motivation, initiative, flexibility, and willingness to perform;
  • A strong independence and reliability as well as a thorough way of working;
  • Good communication skills and a convincing appearance;
  • Analytical, structured and output-driven working style;
  • Very good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken;
  • A degree in a relevant field, such as audio engineering, computer science, or mathematics.

Salary and Location

The monthly salary for this position is approximately €4,500-€6,000, depending on qualifications and experience. The position is located in Ilmenau, Germany, which offers good transport connections and proximity to the state capital Erfurt.
