Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Buyer - Electronics to lead our global procurement efforts. The ideal candidate will develop and execute cost-effective sourcing strategies, ensuring alignment with company objectives. This role requires strong knowledge of electronics supply chains and component sourcing, as well as excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute cost-effective sourcing strategies for electronic components, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Supplier Management: Identify and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers, negotiating terms that favour cost savings, delivery reliability, and quality standards.
- Cost Optimization: Drive savings through supplier negotiations, alternate sourcing, and cost-reduction initiatives to contribute to the company's profitability.
- Market Research: Continuously analyse trends and developments in the electronics and manufacturing markets to identify opportunities for competitive advantage.
- Procurement Planning: Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure procurement strategies support operational needs and project timelines.
- Supplier Risk Management: Assess supplier reliability, manage risks, and create contingency plans for any supply chain disruptions.
- Contract Management: Negotiate and manage supply contracts, ensuring favourable terms and long-term partnerships with key suppliers.
- Inventory Control: Work closely with inventory management to ensure just-in-time (JIT) delivery without jeopardizing production.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement improvements in procurement processes to enhance efficiency and supplier performance.
- Sustainability Focus: Advocate for sustainable procurement practices, including the selection of eco-friendly materials and suppliers.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in strategic purchasing, preferably in the electronics or manufacturing sector.
- Strong knowledge of electronics supply chains and component sourcing.
- Proven ability to negotiate effectively and manage supplier relationships.
- Experience in procurement planning and cost management within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with procurement tools such as SAP or other ERP systems.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills to handle the demands of a mid-sized business.
- Excellent communication skills in both German and English.
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
