Job Description
We are seeking a Production Engineer to join our team at the Oberkochen site. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating production-related development tasks, ensuring product design suitability for production and maintenance, and preparing products for series production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate production-related development tasks with a focus on mechatronics as a central interface between development, production, and the supply chain.
- Ensure product design is suitable for production and maintenance, considering manufacturability, integrability, standardization, and D-FMEAs.
- Prepare products for series production, including series start-up planning and transfer to series production.
- Orientate existing products in close cooperation with development to continuously increase quality and stability.
- Conceive and create test and special equipment.
- Automate testing and production processes.
- Document tests in production and conduct investigations to improve product functionality and reliability.
- Support the identification and elimination of production problems using suitable methods for root cause analysis such as PPS or SPC.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A completed engineering degree in optoelectronics, mechatronics, or a comparable field.
- Many years of professional experience in process development and/or optimization using common methods such as Six Sigma, FMEA, Lean Management, TQM.
- Practical experience in assembly/manufacturing areas, ideally with a focus on optics or optoelectronics.
- IT knowledge of CAD and ERP systems, as well as MS Office.
- Programming skills, preferably in Python and AutoIT.
- Technical expertise and understanding of industrial processes.
- Commitment, strong team orientation, and communication skills.
- A structured and goal-oriented approach, assertiveness.
- Fluent German and good English skills.
