Trainee Natural Resources, Utilities Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Trainee to join our Natural Resources and Utilities team. As a Trainee, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including market analysis, company research, and transaction execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth market, company, and transaction analyses to support client needs
  • Develop and originate tailored solutions for clients in the Natural Resources and Utilities sector
  • Collaborate with product groups to respond to client needs and coordinate client pitch meetings
  • Support the execution and coordination of M&A buy-side, sell-side, equity raising transactions
  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models for takeover, financing, and company situations
Requirements
  • Master's degree in business administration, finance, or economics with good academic results
  • Preferably prior experience in investment banking and/or consulting, ideally in M&A or alternative areas
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, corporate finance, and accounting skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a variety of sub-sectors and businesses
  • Knowledge of Refinitiv, Bloomberg, S&P CapitalIQ, FactSet, Mergermarket, and other relevant tools
  • Excellent MS Office skills, particularly in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Special knowledge and reliability according to § WpHG (2. FiMANoG) and § 1a and § 6 WpHGMaAnzV
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and deliver on-time and on-quality
  • Confident and assertive conduct vis-à-vis clients and partners
  • Willingness to accept and master new challenges regularly
  • Hard-working and motivated to make a difference
  • Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Fluent English skills, preferably with very good German skills
