Mathematical Modeler for Quantum Simulations

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Theoretical Physicist to join our team at the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) in Ulm, Germany. As a member of our Institute of Engineering Thermodynamics, you will play a key role in developing quantum algorithms for energy storage devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new mathematical models and methods for simulating electrochemical energy storage devices on quantum computers.
  • Collaborate with experimental partners to develop and optimize energy storage devices.
  • Author scientific publications and present research at national and international conferences.
Requirements
  • PhD in a natural science or engineering subject (e.g. Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Chemistry).
  • Excellent English language skills for communication in our international team.
  • Strong background in theoretical physics and simulation techniques.
  • Security clearance as well as the willingness to undergo security clearance pursuant to §§ 8 ff. Security Clearance Act (SÜG) is a condition for employment at DLR.
